To the attention of: Honorable Governor Kathy Hochul

Dear Governor Hochul,

I am writing to express my strong support for the Grieving Families Act. As you know, this Act would help families who have suffered the devastating consequences of medical malpractice.

According to the New York State Bar Association, the current law leaves many families without recourse. The Grieving Families Act would create a fairer system, allowing families to seek compensation for their losses.

More importantly, this Act would incentivize doctors to provide better care by holding them more accountable for their actions. This will ultimately lead to a safer healthcare system for all New Yorkers.

I understand your concerns about potential unintended consequences. However, I believe the benefits of this Act far outweigh any potential risks adding that the very lowest estimate of lives lost daily, in New York due to medical malpractice exceeds three. All preventable deaths.

In closing, I urge you to reconsider your position and sign the Grieving Families Act. This will be a significant step towards improving healthcare for all New Yorkers.
